WEEKEND AT A GLANCE

What happens at CrossCity Kids? A whole lot of fun and a whole lot of God! We are challenging kids every weekend to trust God, make wise choices, and build lasting friendships. Here is what a typical weekend service at CrossCity Kids looks like.

Welcome:

Kids are greeted in their classrooms/meeting areas by their small group leaders. They usually participate in a fun activity related to the one truth we want them to walk away with and remember that day.

Large Group Environment:

Shortly after arriving, kids will gather for Large Group Time where they will worship together with music, a Bible story, communion (for those who have been baptized), and prayer. This a time for all the kids to hear from God, worship Him, and have lots of fun! We incorporate lots of props, action, and energy into Large Group Time.

Small Group Environment:

After Large Group, kids travel back to their small group classrooms/meeting areas with their leaders. This is a time when their group leader helps them understand where the bottom line truth they have learned fits into their everyday life. Our leaders are serious about having fun with the kids and teaching the TRUTH. We want kids to see how God’s Word fits in their everyday lives, how they can trust and talk to Him, and how they can have a relationship with Him through Jesus. We want kids to build friendships and get connected with other kids and their leaders, so we create environments and activities for this to happen.

Curriculum:

We believe more in strategy rather than curriculum. There are key things a child needs to learn–age-specific core concepts, principles, and experiences to have a real, growing, and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We use a strategy that focuses on Three Basic Truths:

Preschool:
1. God LOVES Me.
2. God MADE Me.
3. Jesus wants to be my FRIEND forever. (Based on Deuteronomy 6)

Elementary:
1. Wisdom: I need to make the wise choice.
2. Faith: I can trust God no matter what.
3. Friendship: I should treat others the way I want to be treated. (Based on Luke 2:52)

The Three Basic Truths are amplified through 36 virtues we find in Scripture (such as generosity, kindness, faith…) and 150 Bible Stories.
